How do I uninstall Dell Printer Status Monitor?

When I try to shut down my computer, Dell Status Monitor does not end.   I have to close it manually.   I tried to modify the printer software in Add/Remove Programs, keeping the printer driver.   The process hangs.   I have tried uninstalling all the Dell printer software, but again the process hangs.   I have tried using Windows Installer Cleanup, but the program does not appear there.

use msconfig to disable it by typing msconfig in command prompt (you can access to it by pressing windows key + R)
go to startup tab and disable it. Go check if something is there in the services tab since some app are started up by some services installed in that machine...
take a look to this article so that you can make the full installation cleanup by hand directly in register if you want to remove it completely... still i would first check if i can print without him...

Thank you.  The registry cleanup article is very useful.   Incidentally, I was able to stop the message appearing on shutdown by disabling "Status Monitor Is Always Present" in the options for the program.
