You need to get the Service Pack 1, it brings back something similar to the MSDN that was used in previous versions of Visual Studio.

Visual Studio 2008 SP1 MSDN English US. The 1506188 is an internal code at Microsoft.

This is for Visual Studio 2008, it won't show on F1 in 2010, you will have to start it as a standalone application.

It will be incomplete, since it will not cover the new features in 2010.

That file is an ISO file, a compacted copy of a DVD. You need special software to be able to use it. If you do not know what an ISO file is, you are better to download the 4 standalone parts.

Instead of going that way, reread my first post. There is a link in there to the Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1. This is what you need if you want local help in VS 2010.

I understood all of your explaination.
I have installed visual studio 2010 ultimate full version.
I clicked  Help > Manage Help Settings in vs2010 ultimate.
no one reaction found.
please understand my expectation.
in a area of our offices, internet connection not found. I  want  100% of full msdn collection   for vs2008,2010

1)  for vs2008,    is  there  4 standalone parts of  100% full ?
2) for vs2010,    is  there   both of 4 standalone parts and   Service Pack 1( in first comment you told)    of 100% full ?
3) is 4 stand alone parts of 100%  of equal to VS2008SP1MSDNENUX1506188?

For 2008, yes the 4 standalone parts are the full version. They are standalone only to simplify downloading. The 4 parts will be combined together when you start the .exe.

The VS2008SP1MSDNENUX1506188 is also the standalone, but presented in one big file that could take very long to download, and depending on how you are set up, you might have to restart the download from scratch if a problem happened during the transmission. It is also an ISO file, so it won't install automatically on your system as the 4 separate parts do. You need software that can handle ISO.

Put in other words, you download either the 4 part (.exe, .rar, .rar, .rar), either the .iso. You will get the same result, the complete MSDN. But the 4 parts version will be easier to get if you have bad internet connections in you part of the world.

-----

For 2010 I have installed visual studio 2010 ultimate full version. VS2010 Ultimate full is not enough. They released a service pack for that version. You need it.

Go Help...About. Look at the version number. If there is no SP1 at the end of the version number, you won't be able to use a local copy of MSDN. You will need to upgrade to SP1 through the link I gave you.

-----

If you have problems with internet connections, contact Microsoft. They might be able to ship you a copy of MSDN on DVD.
