Exchange Management Console Error - SBS 2011

Hi,

A few weeks ago i was messing around configuring and playing with Sharepoint running on my 2011 sbs server. At some point during this i have somehow broken the Exchange Management Console, OWA and Outlook over https.

As far as i can tell it's something IIS related - and i swear i've read an article explaining the cause and how to fix it, but can't for the life of me find it now!

The error i receive when opening the Exchange Management Console is

Initialization Failed

The following error occurred while attempting to connect to the specified exchange server "servername".

The attempt to connect to http://servername/powershell using :Kerberos" authentication failed: Connecting to remote server failed with the following error message: the WinRM client cannot process the request. The authentication mechanism requested by the client is not supported by the server or unencrypted traffic is disabled in the service configuration. Verify the unencrypted traffic setting in the service configuration or specify one of the authentication mechanisms supported by the server. To use kerberos, specify the computer name as the remote destination. Also verify the client computer and the destination computer are joined to a domain. To use Basic, specify the compute name as the remote destination, specify Basic Authentication and provide user name and password.

Look forward to getting this fixed :)

Cheers,
Troy

probably either IIS default website not running, or sharepoint has pinched the ports it needs

I had a similar problem here http://www.petenetlive.com/KB/Article/0000477.htm

Thanks Pete.

I've gone through your blog post and had the same results from the command prompt - and as you mentioned the default website isn't running.

But when i try to start it i recieve the error "This web site cannot be started. another website may be using the same port.

I've checked the default port bindings and port 80 is listed on both "companyweb" and "default web site" so i suspect this may be the problem. That said i would have thought companyweb would have to run on port 80 as well since it is web based after all.

I continued onto do the nbstat commands and i've attached the screen shot as well.
