Find Email Setting in your hosting control panel.  Click on 'Manage Account'.  That should bring up a list of your email addresses.  Click on the 'tool' icon on the right (looks like a hammer and a wrench), and you will see under "General Information" the number of 'SMTP relays' you have sent today.

Sorry, I thought you were on Godaddy.  Must have been a different question.
can you post the exact error message?

yes I am on godaddy but dedicated hosting so they offer no support

they send me an email that I reached 1000 smtp emails for the day and they are turning it off
yaiks... seems like a Limit Policy on Godaddy's side.

correct.  there is a limit.

but is there a way I could investigate this

I view iis7 traffic logs and see which pages users are going to only 50 page visits total per day

could someone be logging onto dedicated server and sending emails.

not sure if there is a way.

The reason (I think most) why these hosting limits the sending or volume of emails going out using their SMTP is because it will definitely affect their IP reputation which is very important for them.

They don't want their other clients hosting on their server to have problem sending emails.

Just a thought.

C:\inetpub\mailroot\Queue

keeps filling up with 1000s of .eml files that want to be sent

how do I block this

I think that I have a virus

Smtp virtual server
Relay restrictions select only the IP addresses
I put in my main IP address and someone is still sending
The first thing I would do would be to put a Deny Deny Deny rule for smtp in your firewall except for IP's you want to send email to external
What email clients are you using?
