DNS issues in new DC

Hi all

I have just added the first WIndows 2008 Server into an exisiting WIndows 2003 network and promoted it to DC.

In DNS, the primary zone is not there though?

The error I get is:

The zone cannot be replicated to all DNS servers that are domain controllers (running Windows 2003 or later) in the domain.local Active Directory domain because the required application directory partition does not exist. Only Enterprise Administrators have the appropriate permissions to create an application directory partition.

To store this zone in a domain controller until the partition is created, close this message, and then click Replicate to All Domain Controllers in the Active Directory Domain option.

I have changed the DNS type to AD-Integrrated on the 2003 DC, and all roles have been transferred to new 2008 DC.

I think I might have got it.

One thing led to another and I found the Naming Master role was still pointing to the old server.

I couldnt transfer the role normally, kept saying the other server was offline although it isnt so I used ntdsutil to seize it, which worked (in fact it said at the end it didnt need to seize it?)

I then created the application partition within DNS and the latest losgs suggest DNS is now replicating, just need to wait to see if it does.
