If you select one of the standard invoice templates, then go into the customization, sales taxes (VAT is a sales tax type) can be selected for the footer of the invoice. Then the taxes show up in total.

But can the VAT amount be shown per item ?
Looks as though only the VAT rate can shown.

I think it only shows the total at the bottom, because (if there are variations in the lines) the total tax is what counts. Also the total tax goes into the sales tax liability account.

So, no, I think only the Tax Code shows. This is consistent with invoices that come to me as well.

You can do this in QB2002 Pro and no idea why you can't now.

The sales tax coding and program was totally new in QB 2007 (in my country) and implemented sales tax in a generalized way. So I cannot explain other than to say the two versions (now and then) are completely different. ... Thinkpads_User
