#560 5.6.0 Prohibited Message Content

My boss is getting errors when sending to one person outside our network. Example, two emails went out to external contacts and only one got a NDR. We have exchange 2010, not sure what the other guys are using. Doing a search for this error comes up with

The e-mail system had a problem processing this message. It won't try to deliver this message again.

So there server is saying your message has something in it, that it has been configured to not accept

Can you send an email to that server using telnet from within your organization?

If the prohibited content in that email is obvious, then remove it and test again.  In fact just test with a simple mail with a few words in it, no attachments, no hyperlinks, etc.

If they still bounce, then the only thing you can do is contact the receiver and have them check their logs for more specific reject/bounce reasons.

sounds to me like their server is blocking as per the bold text, I can't find this error in MS exchange so I would assume this is probably a firewall or some type of hosted mail service. FTgate comes up on searching google.

so sorry for the delay the error was on the receiving end. Their firewall was blocking it. I can't figure out how to close the question.
