I need to generate metrics on email users and am looking for a 3rd party tool.

Some of the things I'm trying to measure are:
1. Number of outbound emails per user excluding out of office, or to our companies domain
2. Number of inbound emails by user

While I know some things can be done using management console it doesn't lend itself to potentially automating some metrics processes.

Any suggestions?
