hi guys

how can i pass parameter to event listener function ?
I have

var columnIndex:int = getKey();
dataGrid.addEventListener(flash.events.KeyboardEvent.KEY_UP,populate); // here i want to pass 'columnIndex' to populate()

private function populate(event: flash.events.KeyboardEvent) : void {      
if(columnIndex == 4 ) {
PopUpManager.addPopUp(tradeLookUp.dataGrid, this, false); //popup the grid            
}
}

any help greatly appreciated
