Does anyone know how Yelp works?

Yelp has moved almost  all my client's positive reviews to “filtered”, as if they were bogus.  They only left negative reviews from other competitors.
Does anyone know how it works and why some reviews filtered and some not?
Any thoughts?  Thank you!

This article will shed a little bit of light on your subject, as Yelp tries to make reviews more transparent, etc.
