Exchange 2010 SP1 - Cannot create folder in Outlook or search in Outlook

Having an issue with Exchange 2010.

About 10% of our Outlook clients running 2003\2007\2010 are not able to create or delete subfolders within their inbox. Same thing with searching inbox - for a good number of users the search just hangs without finding anything.

- Do we have all\most of the affected users in a particular store
- most of the affected  users in a particular client OS?
- Any common firewall? (client OS or server)

Can they create any other folders @ the mailbox level? Is that happening fine?

a) Outlook online mode
b) Outlook Web access

The issue has been resolved. We had corrupt index catalogs, which according to MS is caused by improper failover\reboot. Reseeding the catalog fixed the issue. More information here:

Still not entirely sure how this effects the creation\deletion of folders - but it worked.
