Storing Files And Emails Together

hello experts,

what is the best way of storing email and files together?  We need to start storing correspondance in the same place as our files to replace the current phyisal folders/paper version (ie printing it all out and paying for storage).  We have looked at several paperless office systems but they are so expensive......is there a cheaper alternative....would Sharepoint cope?

Yes SharePoint could work.  One of the main functions of SharePoint is document management.  You can also email enable a Document Library (logical component in SP that houses documents) which allows you to email the library and store the message.
