When printing a standard document I am getting an error "Invalid User ID" when trying to change the printer properties to black/white. This only happens in Word and not in any other applications such as Excel.

Give this a go-around.

Start Word, click the Office button, then Word Options. Highlight the
contents of the "User name" text box and enter your initials.

I found the same bug here with a long write-up of the source for it.
