Trunk Encapsulation option not available on Cisco Catalyst 4507R-E

I have 5 Cisco Catalyst 4500 series switches with model/ios ver/image as shown below.  

Switch Name      Model      IOS Version      Image
Switch1            4507R-E      12.2(46)SG      cat4500-IPBASE-M

Switch3            4507R-E      12.2(53)SG2      Cat4500e-ENTSERVICES-M

Switch5            4507R      12.2(25)EWA9      Cat4000-I9K9IS-m

Switch3 will not allow me to set trunk encapsulation...as shown here:

Switch3(config)#int gi1/28
Switch3(config-if)#switchport mode trunk
Switch3(config-if)#switchport trunk ?
  allowed  Set allowed VLAN characteristics when interface is in trunking mode
  native   Set trunking native characteristics when interface is in trunking mode
  pruning  Set pruning VLAN characteristics when interface is in trunking mode

All other switches show me the "encapsulation" option, as shown here:

Switch1(config)#int gi1/11
Switch1(config-if)#switchport trunk ?
  allowed        Set allowed VLAN characteristics when interface is in trunking mode
  encapsulation  Set trunking encapsulation when interface is in trunking mode
  native         Set trunking native characteristics when interface is in trunking mode
  pruning        Set pruning VLAN characteristics when interface is in trunking mode

I am at a loss as to why this is happening.  If anything, the ENTSERVICES image should have more features, not less.  Can someone help me find out what I need to enable/change to get this to work?

The image you have only supports 802.1q and not ISL.

Cisco is slowly but surely phasing ISL out of their images since its Cisco proprietary.

So, you don't have to set an encap method because it uses dot1q when you set it as a trunk
