Can anybody tell me if it is possible to stream avi format from a net gear nas box to apple tv, is there an app availiable that will allow me to do this on my iPad.

I seem to be limited when using AirPlay only to apple format.

All my streaming would be done from a readynas duo box

CineXPlayer might be what you are looking for, especially to play AVI, which not a format the iPad accepts.

Yes I have seen this app but apparently it only gives you the sound to the apple tv

At the moment I am using an app called 8player which allows me to watch avi through my iPad but because it is an avi you do not get the AirPlay icon to send to apple tv

Any more idears
