I have a citrix farm and want to move the redirect folders to another server without losing or having to take ownership.  I also want to have domain admins added to the security of these folders.  is there an easy way?

Is there an easy way to move redirected folders?

Yes - but the safest way is to robocopy all the redirected folders to the new server location prior to changing the GPO to reflect the new location.  Robocopy using /COPYALL /E so that all security attributes are copied too.

Is there an easy way to add domain admins to the security?

Yes - it would be best to do it on the source, that way it will be transferred over to the target.  The best way is to navigate to the root of your users redirected profiles, and set permission on that.

For example - if all users are \\lester.domain\data\users\%username%\My Documents etc then set the permission on \\lester.domain\data\users

If the permissions do not flow down - i.e. each user has removed all permissions, and set only for the user, then look to set the permission on every %username% - you can do this by running a DOS prompt and entering the following command

icacls \\lester.domain\data\users\* /grant administrator:(OI)(CI)(F)

Hope that helps.
