Outlook.exe connecting to external addresses

I've been watching Resource Monitor and see that Outlook.exe is connecting to a few different external addresses, even though I'm currently connected inside my office, thus inside my domain. Is that normal?

What IP's?
What addins do you have in outlook?
Do you allow outlook to display images and HTML emails?
Do you have any accounts set up except your company email account ON an exchange server?

Domains - dia.static.qwest.net and industrybrains.com
The only addins that I have is GoToMeeting and the Outlook Social Connector
HTML
No other accounts

I did a lookup on qwest.net leads me to an ISP in the Phillapeans, whereas industrybrains.com leads to a pay per click company in Seattle, WA

Again though, I just don't see why Outlook would be connecting to those places directly. Exchange, yeah, but not Outlook...unless its the social connector?

industrybrains.com is a pay per click/adsense provider yes and logical to see outlook connections from it.

dia.static.qwest.net is a legit business selling server space for large companies.  You may well find one of there servers used by a social element or even by microsoft themselves.

BUT

x.x.x.x.dia.static.qwest.net  could be any tom dick or hariot at home. They provide a LOT of services.

Have you run something like Whats running to watch whats connecting and when?

Thanks for the assist. I did run What's running, per your suggestion, and between the information you gained there and a couple of other things I was able to determine that this was related to the Outlook Social Connector.

Thanks again!
