Automatically handling configuration files for web development

you sometimes need to go through a battery of integration tests where you put the site to work in an environment that simulates the production. You may need yet another web.config file for this scenario. In the end, you likely need about three different versions of the web.config file -- debug, release, and test. How do you deal with this?
