The error message I recieve states:

User backup -- The job failed with the following error: A failure occurred querying the Writer status.  Writer Name: Exchange Server, Writer ID: {76FE1AC4-15F7-4BCD-987E-8E1ACB462FB7}, Last error: The VSS Writer failed, but the operation can be retried (0x800423f3), State: Failed during prepare snapshot operation (8).

The actual backup job runs over 2 tapes and the job completes and it asks for tape 1 so it can start varifying but then the job fails immediately. Please advise.

here's the behaviour;

when the backup writes to two tapes, it expects the tapes to be loaded backup inot the drive for verify options.

if you using the tape drive (not robotic tape library), you will face this option, unless u sit there and load tape 1, when requesting during the verify option.

else, disable the verify option and check if the backup is sucessfull!
