Is there a better way to describe Contracts for child classes

Is there a better way than having to add a knowntypeattribute for child classes to the base class?

This almost works.  The problem I seem to be having is when the operation is returning a generic interface type (i.e. IList(Of BaseType)).  Any ideas?

Hi,

You may have to change the Collection Type: which appears when you right click the service in VS and choose Configure Service Reference. Change Collection Type to System.Collections.Generic.List

Not sure, but might help

Isn't that for configuring the client?  Right now I am testing it using the WCF Test Client.  Is there a way to configure that?
