How to change EditForm filed default value in WSS Sharepoint?

I want to change the default value of a field when EditForm.
For example, a filed name call "Flag", the original default value is 1, i want to change it to 2 when i load EditForm.

I cannot use VS, only can use SPD 2007 or add CEWP with java script.
Any dea how can i do that?
