Print spooler keeps stopping - Server 2003 R2

Print Spooler on Server keeps stopping.  Error message is:

Event Type:      Error
Event Source:      Service Control Manager
Event Category:      None
Event ID:      7034
Date:            01/10/2011
Time:            14:20:35
User:            N/A
Computer:      ******
Description:
The Print Spooler service terminated unexpectedly.  It has done this 5 time(s).

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

An Epson printer driver was installed yesterday (and was working OK).  All users unable to print this morning, spooler keeps stopping almost immediately after being restarted.  We have uninstalled the new Epson driver files and still have the issue.

I would back up the following directory:
C:\Windows\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\

Then start removing printer drivers.  They may be nestled in additional sub directories.

I backed up the w32x86 and removed what I assume were driver files - mostly DLLs and GPD files.  The spooler service still stops.

I have just received some additional info from a colleague.  When the problem was first reported this morning he rebooted the server and got the following error message:

Data Execution Prevention - Microsoft Windows
----------------------------------------------------------------
To help protect your computer, Windows has closed this program.

Name:  Spooler SubSystem App
Publisher:  Microsoft Corporation

He did 'change settings' and turned DEP and rebooted again.  The message went away but the spooler problem didn't.

Another error in Event Viewer:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Event ID 2510
The server service was unable to map error code 1722.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

The next steP:
Unshare all your printers, then if the spooler stays started reshare them one by one until you find the culprit.
After that reboot, if that does not fix it, remove all the printers and readd them one by one.

Also, Sounds like Internet explorer was updated, as DEP came with I.E. 7 or 8.   You might try removing the updated I.E. iIF YOU CAN.
