SharePoint Services 3.0 Authentication

I have a SharePoint server running and it's facing the internet.
The users are in AD but their computers are not part of the domain.
When I created a new user in AD, and set the password to prompt the user to change it upon login, the user then logs into SharePoint and is not being prompted to change the password. After so many try, the account get locked out.

hi the same problem is on Exchange owa. What you can doo is if you have terminal server. Users can try to login on terminal server and it prompt them to change password and there they can change password remotly. Its working also without premissions to login on terminal as user :)
