Hello Experts,

I feel like punching AT&T in the face. I would like to use my Asus RT-N10+ wireless router as my primary router. I have the 2WIRE 3800HGV-B gateway and I hate its lack of features.

What I did was to connect an ethernet cable fromt he WAN port of the ASUS router to a regular ethernet port of the RG. Then i went on the RG and i disabled the wireless functions. I found the router and i made it DMZ plus mode.

Since yetserday my interent connection through the ASUS router was been garbage and really slow. I cant connect to xbox live. However, I am able to wok just fine connected to the ethernet port of my RG. I've had this setup for a month and at worst i would have to reboot the router but now it just will run really slow.

I have done factory restore to the ASUS router and the problem persists. Maybe I am doing something wrong ?

Thanks.

"I feel like punching AT&T in the face."

I feel the same way sometimes!

I have a 2-Wire from AT&T also, and we have troubles whether or not I use my own router in the DMZ like yours.  So my only suggestion would be to run a continuous ping and see what the response time is, both directly on the 2-Wire and on your ASUS.  If it is consistently more than 70ms, or you have lots of failures, call AT&T and let them know.

I gave up on my dream. But I adopted an alternate one.

I flahed my asus with ddr-wt and I am now using it as an Access point. What I truly cared for was the ability to set the Qos for each device so I am truly happy now :).

Thanks for your input, kbirecki.

I HATE XBOX 360. WTF ? My solution worked fine. Then all of a sudden on the 3rd day my lame azz xbox wont connect to my freakin access point. Yet all my other wireless clients connect to it just fine. I get the horrible excuse for a console error message to check my passphrase for the network and it just won't freaking connect ! WTF WTF WTF WTF. So I destroyed my Asus access point in a fit of rage and after smashing it to pieces threw it in the ocean and it felt really good. But now i have the same problem with a new asus access point of the exact same model.

Here is what I have tried and failed with:

1) I have done factory restored on xbox 360.
2) I have set everything manually
3) I have removed network and added again
4) I have power cycled both the access point and the xbox.
5) read all the useless articles on uPnp options that I have to enable.

This just happen today. I was fine for 3 days and now it decided to act like a lame piece of chinese handywork.

I know that the xbox works because I can pick up my neighbors wifi just fine.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Well, the Asus AP is in pieces at the bottom of the ocean, the XBox has an arrow through it, I want to make sure you know I'm on your team an I don't find myself on the wrong end of a flailing mace or something. ;)
