Curious about Google's Widget's and jQuery?

We are making a website at work that uses Google's Widgets and makes heavy use of jQuery. What can you tell me about what's cool and what's not so cool about this technology?

Thanks!

Every time you link to Google, you are reporting to them where and who is viewing your web pages.  I don't think that's so cool and I have eliminated all javascript links to Google from my pages.  I load jquery from my own site, not from Google.

I learned the technology is called Google Open Social. Have you heard of it?  Also, Apache Wingding, or some name like that.

Is that what you mean, this technology reports user page access data to Google?

Isn't that what Google Ad Words is all about? It tracks hits to web pages and links as well. I am curious and want to understand the rrisks before jumping into any new technology.

Thanks.

That would be Google Analytics.  But any Google javascript on your pages reports to them by virtue of making a connection to them.
