setup first website on MAC OSX

So far I have been working with Windows IIS servers, ASP and SQL 2008. I just got a MAC and I have dreamwever CS5 for MAC, most of my websites are simple HTML pages and for creating email pages I can learn how to use PHP.
Thing is I have no idea how to setup a website on MAC (OSX Lion). If I need to add a feature or install a web server on MAC, no clue. This with the obvios purpose of being able to test the websites locally before I upload them.
Also, I assume I can develop them in a MAC then upload to a windows server if it is simple HTML/PHP  (Assuming I have installed PHP in the windows server).

Any help, perhaps a tutorial on this would be great !

Try MAMP: http://www.mamp.info/en/index.html

Here's a Howto for setting it up: http://duvien.com/blog/setting-web-server-testing-mac-osx-104-tiger

Of course you will be able to upload these pages to a Windows server; but it should be a Windows Apache, not a Windows IIS server. There are several Apache bundles for Windows too, like XAMPP, WAMP and EasyPHP.

MAMP is free, by the way.
