PlayBook with SonicWALL 190

Hi,

I`ve been playing around and search online, but have not been able to track down a definitive answer:

Is there a way for BlackBerry PlayBook to connect (presumably via VPN) to our SonicWALL TZ 190 Enhanced? So that users may be able to browse network shares and access files etc?

If not, is it possible with another VPN/firewall device that fulfill the same service as the SonicWALL? And which of these would you recommend for a small business with 50 people in an office and no more than 15 simultaneously VPN connections at any given time?

Thanks,

Sonicwall's SSL vpn box in my opinion is the best option, it takes the processing off the firewall and allows it to concentrate on av scanning, app control etc. It also works well with ipads so I presume playbook should work aswell. Check out this link should give you some further detail. I would say with 15 at the one time depending on your internal traffic a seperate box like like sonicwall sslvpn is the best option. http://www.sonicwall.com/us/products/Secure_Remote_Access.html

Hi,

SonicWall isn't supported via the drop-down list, but you may want to try one of the options and configured it as if it was?

So if you're using IPSEC, then select the Cisco PIX, for example.

If you're using L2TP, it's not clear it's supported, but some posts I've seen suggest the CheckPoint option may support that.

Have a look here:

The SonicWALL TZ 190 does not offer SSLVPN and there is no Playbook client for it at the moment. The only option would be L2TP for remote access with that unit.

Sonicwalls ssl vpn box is the most hassle free option and gives you room to grow. Lumping everything on the one firewall imho is asking for performance issues.
