How to increase the upload speed in uTorrent?

My download speeds in uTorrent vary from 1.7 to 2.1 MB/sec.

However, the max upload speed is 180 KB/sec.

Is there a way to increase this or has the ISP enforced this limit?

Please advise.. Any comments would be highly appreciated.

Many thanks!

Looks like you have a (a)DSL connection, where this is normal practice. Upload and download are scaled 8:1 or even less. With cable connections you will see the same. Only if you are getting a business range connection you can order symmetric up/down speeds. They will cost a lot more than consumer connections though. You have roughly 20Mbit down and 2Mbit up.

I agree with what @gerwinjansen says.  That's the way ADSL works.

go to http://www.speedtest.net and check your maximum upload speed or refer to your isp's documentation on what your plan has for download/upload speed
