Lexmark C540dw printer duplex printing not working properly

Lexmark C540dw color laser printer prints an arrow on the back side to manually insert paper back into printer.  Also when printing multiple copies each page is printed on both sides of the paper for the number of copies needed.  Correlating does not help.  I have installed the universal drivers and the firmware update.  Still the problem continues.  I am using Windows 7 home premium edition.

This is almost definitely the driver at fault..
Disconnect then remove the printer and driver...
AFTER a reboot. Now add the latest Universal driver before reconnecting the device,

Are there any other Lexmark devices on the same workstation?

Your suggestion did not work.  I contacted Lexmark this morning.  Here is the name of the installation software that worked for my computer.


64-bit PCL 5 EMULATION Print Driver Universal Print Driver  (File Name)
Lexmark_Universal_UD0_Win_64_PCL_Emul.exe  (actual download files)

After installation make sure the "universal PCL 5" driver is selected.  If it is not then add the driver as a "new driver."  

I hope this helps others with the same duplex printing issues.  This solved the arrow printing on the back, the same page printing on front and back, and the manual duplexing issue.
