Web Service Security

I am new in programming worl and my project is a bout developing distributed e-healthcare system based on SOA. I have created multiple web services using WCF for example pharmacy web services and laboratory web services , these web services will be used by different healthcare provider. My questions are about:
1- how to secure these wcf services, I have read about different security scenarios in msdn web site, but i still could not figure out which scenario is suit my project.
2- Is UDDI technology is active and should I use it and how to implement it within .NET framework.

any help is highly appreciated.

I found many tutorials that explain how to secure wcf services, but I want to know what is the suitable wcf security option for my project?

In any case the first step in securing a web service is to use HTTPS to communicate between client and service.

If you have your consumers on a fixed IP address then you can set this on IIS, so only those IP address can be used to access your web service.
