Microsoft SSAS not working properly 2008 r2
I cannot get SSAS to work properly. It won't let me process a cube or explore data. My software is a new install, I have never successfully processed a cube with this install.
I am using Windows authentication. When I "Test Connection" it succeeds. I am able to create a data source view and even run the cube wizard and create a cube. But I cannot process, and I cannot explore the data from the data source view.
When I try to explore the data I get this error message:
Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0X80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG))
When I try to process, I get this error:
Error 2 The project could not be deployed to the '.' server because of the following connectivity problems : A connection cannot be made. Ensure that the server is running. To verify or update the name of the target server, right-click on the project in Solution Explorer, select Project Properties, click on the Deployment tab, and then enter the name of the server.

Did you install the Office Web Components and it didn't' fix it?

I'm not using the web and don't know what the web components are, so I was hoping there would be another solution in terms of something familiar. If this is the most promising route, I can see if I can figure out how to install them, whatever they are.

I have Windows 7 and Office 2010. The above link is for Web Components 2003. I'm afraid of messing something up since it is an earlier version of Office. Any input on that?

I did look at the post, and that's when I noticed the web components were for Office 2003. OK, I'll try it, just wanted to make sure I didn't mess anything up. I'll let you know what happens.

That's the exact setup that I had, windows 7 enterprise, office 2010, and sql 2008R2
