XEN APP Fundamentals 6.0

I have some applications that need local administrative access(there is no way around this). By making users members of the local admin group. This publishes a folder in there published apps that would allow them to remote desktop as a local admin to the server(console) and quickstart and admin the citrix portion of this server.

How do I not publish this folder for local admins or empty the administrator folder of its icons?

Unfortunately a lot of those folders and icons are created programmatically.

When you say that the application requires local administrator credentials, I have to say that I'm yet to find one that actually does, but it will take some work to get going properly.

Sysinternals tools are your friend here - particularly process monitor as it allows you to monitor the registry and file system for access denied messages (and can even highlight them), and you can filter by executable.

I would recommend anyone managing a Citrix environment to get hold of this as it can make troubleshooting much, much easier.
