multicast question

hi guys

im running two server (virtual ones) where an application uses multicast between them. The multicast comes up when using but when i try and change it to then it wont work. any ideas? server 2008

    check the netmask for the multicast routes is correct.

    can i try and use any addresses within the multicast range?

    the objective is to test if there is no a restriction based on the address itself or the range.
