How to sort tasks in Sharepoint2010 using user given IDs?

In SharePoint2010, I have a list of items under the Lists page. I want to put them in an order according my preference.

So, I created another column (ID) but it automatically gave IDs for each item and I cannot change them.

Can you please help me how to do it?

You can add additional column for custom ID.
To do this click "Create Column" in the ribbon of the list.
Set the type of the column to "Number" .This custom ID column your users can fill as they want.

Then you can change the default view of the list to be sorted by this custom id column.
