I setup pop3 settings on Outlook to use as my email client. I forgot to click the option to "leave a copy" on the server. well it turns out it only downloaded emails up until 4/10/11 - everything after that date is "missing". what the heck happened??? this is really bad. I've checked in the "archive" no database even exists - i'm really concerned. I have no idea what happened to all the rest of the emails or where to look. I've logged on to webmail but there is nothing there, obviously.
could a connection problem have messed up my download?? really strange.

only one mailbox and profile.

yes, i checked all folders, including deleted items.

I think you have lost your email. I don't exactly know how, but downloading and not leaving on server does not delete email (for certain). So something else deleted the email.
I don't think a bad connection would do this - Outlook would just collapse and not download.
Do you have another email client (Outlook Express, Thunderbird or such like). ... Thinkpads_User

I have been using Outlook for ages. I know what you are seeing. I don't know where it would have gone if you looked at all the folders. Stumped. I have never lost email this way. ... Thinkpads_User
i've never seen anything like this. really strange.

Make a copy of the PST file. Locate SCANPST in the Outlook (Office) folder in Program Files. Run SCANPST on the copy and see if it produces any errors the might enlighten us. .... Thinkpads_User
