Are there any personal wifi DIY home security systems? I'm looking for a home security system that will work through my home wifi that would allow me to purchase components and add to it as I see fit.

Does such a system exist?

Hi, can you elaborate more on what you need? I am confused as if you are asking:

    1) A home security \ alarm system for your house using wireless webcams & software. if so see URL below:

    2) Home wifi security to secure internet usage and access for PC's connected thru your wireless router.

Hope the url above solves your question.

If you use wireless IP cameras, then it will use your home wifi - they tend to be more expensive than wired solutions, though.  If you decide to go this route, add a surveillance card to a pc, such as a Geovision or Avermedia card  They will come with software to control recording from the cameras, remote viewing, alert management and searching of archives.

I'm looking for something that is more like a traditional home alarm security system that simply monitors windows and doors that can be locked using a keypad, and where all the components communicate with each other over wifi. I'm more interested in an audible alarm rather than a web cam monitoring system.
