Too many hops

I'm trying to send an email to a .co address but am getting the follwing error message from MailMarshal:

"Could not be delivered because of

Server refused mail at END OF DATA - 554 Too many hops 26 ({MaxHops} max)"

The recipient is using SBS Exchange 2003 & MailMarshal SMTP 6.7.2

Any help would be appreciated so thanks in advance!

That is most likely a problem on the receiving server and the mail is looping.  I'm assuming you can send mail to other addresses.

26 Hops does seem excessive, and could be a mail loop.

When mail leaves your organisation do you use a smart host, or DNS lookup for mail delivery?

We had this issues, because we were using many SMTP relays and engines between our mail servers and the internet mailhost for the organisation.

If you are responsible for the .co mail server I found this searching on mailmarshall.

I have resolved this issue now.

I had not added the second domain to the routing table in MailMarshal

A rookie mistake but discovered in the end!

Thanks.

Resolved. Missed adding the second domain address to the MailMarshal routing table...
