Access 2007

I have a Dell Latitude D630 that previously had Access 2003 with a 2007 upgrade. It was working fine but was accidentally removed. I was able to reinstall Access 2003 but when I try installing the 2007 upgrade it gets to about 60% and states Microsoft Access 2007 encountered an error during setup.

I removed Access 2003 and tried just installing Access 2007 but I get the same error. I restored the computer back to a date prior to when Access was originally removed and still noting.

If anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it. BTW Access runtime was also on this computer.

Do you need only the jet-sql runtime or also the access application?

    Accepted Solution

There are many issue where the Runtime just wont play nice with the standard install.
(Ex. Access 2003 installed with Access 200 runtime, ...etc)

From whet I have seen, the "Order" of installations makes this work of not.
What version of the runtime are you using?

So at this point you at least need to get this PC back to where it was originally...

The kicker here is that there may have been updates installed that make this more difficult.

So try uninstalling All versions of Office and the runtime.
Then try installing them in chronological order.

It is Access 2007 Runtime and I did uninstall it. I will check recent updates to see what may have changed.

Still not working completely but the issue completely resides in Access Runtime. Thank you for your help
