How to hookup a big size monitor with the laptop

Hi guys: How to hookup another monitor with the cable or wire? I heard something about KVM switch but i dont know this is what i need. I have a laptop in my office and they give me a big monitor with that. Any thing which i type on my laptop it also shows on that monitor.

Thanks.

You can mirror or extend the desktop to secondary monitor, right now your setting are set to Mirror.. You can change these setting from Control Palen under Display property..

You can get that setting directly by right clicking on the desktop and click property or Resolution settings..

No sure what you are asking.

If I understand correctly you would like to know how to plug the monitor into your laptop: Well you simply plug power into the monitor and attach the blue monitor cable to your laptop.

Uncheck the red circled box to make the other monitor as mirror by not selecting the monitor as exteneded.

Windows XP and Vista have similar settings..

You want to hookup 2 laptops to 1 monitor and have that monitor mirror both at the same time or do you just want the switch between them?

That you cannot do without external device or if your monitor support two same inputs..

Not gonna happen without some sort of specialized hardware(expensive). I have yet to see a monitor that supports split screen mode, there are hdtvs that have this feature so if 1 or both the laptops have hdmi that maybe the way to go.

You must have video splitter device to switch between two video signals.. such as
