Problem with Mac Mini TightVNC

hello,
i have a mac mini (intel i5, 8 GB RAM) i asked a friend to let me use his monitor to setup the mac mini so i did and everything is alright, when i came back home i tried to access the mac using TightVNC but i get this error:

Server did not offer supported security type!

Please help me to enable any security option via command line, because i'm able to login via SSH

I use to use vnc but once you close the session I found you had to restart the mac to get another. If possible use Apple Remote Desktop its the best and easiest by far.

where to find this for Windows ?
The problem is Apple dont make a windows version. In which case you will need to use VNC. If your struggling with a monitor why don't you get an HDMI cable for it? If its a new mac mini then you will need the following: -

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Apple-DisplayPort-Adapter-cable-Neet%C2%AE/dp/B002ERBFYM

or old mac mini

I already setup the mac mini and configured the language, keyboard, username & password and everything is good, now when i try to use TightVNC i get the error

Server did not offer supported security type!

I don't have a monitor with HDMI or DVI port

i have the new mac mini 2011.

is there anyway i can use to enable the screen sharing with the help of the Command line?
I think the error message means that you didn't set up the VNC password properly:

@strung:

i used this link and it worked, i can see the desktop of my mac mini

http://www.librador.com/2009/06/14/How-to-enable-remote-desktop-on-headless-Mac/

BUT when i try to login using my password it doesn't login why?
have you tried this

sudo /System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/Resources/kickstart -activate -configure -access -on -clientopts -setvnclegacy -vnclegacy yes -clientopts -setvncpw -vncpw mypasswd -restart -agent -privs -all
Also I have just found this that might be worth trying

http://www.mymacosx.com/terminal/restart-vnc-service-remotely.html

sudo /System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/Resources/kickstart -restart -agent

It restarts the vnc service

Guys, i can see my first startup page or how to call it, it shows me my username and ask me for its password, when i enter the password it doesn't accept it and it shows me the hint of the password to remember it, when i login to the mac mini via SSH i use the same password and i can login, What the hell is this?
