Secure File Dropbox - using Amazon Web Services bucket?

Hi Experts,

I just setup a YouSendIt dropbox and as an AWS user, and a Dropbox user I thought their must be an alternative.
As AWS offers really simple, cheap HTTPS supported buckets, how would I design a page to accept uploads to this service, cheaply and with the same level of security as the YouSendIt option?

Maybe a Wordpress plugin or something? The page would need to be hosted on S3 mind, so this is my first issue I come up against (as in not on the Site)

Thanks

Recently we replaced our own upload service with https://www.wetransfer.com/ for the same reason. We thought about so many possible solutions coded some on our own but in the end if you want a simple, secure, customizable solution and especially when you want to make receiving files as easy as sending I am pretty sure you end up using https://www.wetransfer.com/ .

For us it really is the one of the kind solution that solved all issues we had, therefore I highly recommend to take a look at it.

You can check out this for more alternative clients
 http://www.labnol.org/internet/amazon-s3-clients-roundup/8286/

: Bucket Explorer supports all features of Amazon S3 but if you aren’t willing to spend $50 on an Amazon S3 client, CloudBerry Explorer for Windows is a good choice. If you are using a different platform or need to set up CloudFront with your Amazon S3 account, go with S3 extension for Firefox.

Hi Breadtan,

Maybe I am not explaining myself clearly enough.
I want to have a page that is hosted in the relatively cheap world of AWS using HTTPS 256 bit encryption that will accept file uploads and pop them into a bucket I have on S3.

I am not looking for an alternative to YouSendIt itself jan-jansen, I am looking for an alternative way to accept files using HTTPS protocol and AWS.

Regards

It seems like this may be related for creating your webpage to post to bucket. The policy document is critical to proof identity for access. There is no mention of encrypting data though...
 http://aws.amazon.com/articles/1434

Also saw wordpress has plugin that provide secure streaming to bucket
 http://www.secureamazons3streaming.com/page/2

But aws by itself already has security features.
 http://aws.amazon.com/security/#features

I saw that they had announced server side encryption and there is client end encryption with their provided sdk
