commandname property to close the template

Is there a commandname to close the empty edit template ?

No. There is no existing command name. Please refer http://www.dotnetspider.com/resources/29757-Gridview.aspx

You can set your own command name and handle the event in Gridview_RowCommand and write code to close the empty edit template. This can be achieved by canceling the edit. Please refer http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.web.ui.webcontrols.gridview.rowediting.aspx

It is a detailsview control placed inside an Empty Edit template.You cam placed Insert,
Delete,Cancel. You are suggesting to placed a linkbutton instead
And do a redirect to the gridview.
