i have adobe reader 9

Did it do a recent update can you try uninstalling and re-installing it? if it doesnt help can u give a list of applications you have installed?

Try creating a new account and see if the message appears for that account to narrow it down.

Also try this

Remove the Adobe Updater.exe key from the registry if it exists.

To remove the Adobe Updater.exe key:

1. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.

2. Select the AdobeUpdater.exe key (if it exists), and then choose Edit > Delete.

3. Click Yes in the Confirm Key Delete dialog box.

Solution 3: Search for and delete the AdobeUpdater.rbt file if it exists.

1. Select Start > Search.

2. Under What Do You Want To Search For, select All Files And Folders.

3. In the All Or Part Of The File Name box, type: AdobeUpdater.rbt

4. In the Look In box, choose your local hard disk.

5. Click Search.

6. Delete the AdobeUpdater.rbt file from the search results if it is found.

i can see Norton internet security in my taskbar showing red cross , but when i am finding it in programs and features to uninstall i am not finding it there .
i want to uninstall it from my laptop
