DT Registers Slow loading issues on SLOW Joomla site.

I have terrible slowness and page loading issues with DT Register.  To add a record thru the control panel takes 6 minutes - 3 of those minutes are waiting for the page to load.

Querying against the Jos_DTRegister tables thru PHPMyadmin - SQL2Excel is SLOW and causes CPU\Process utilization to kill MySQL and thus, the entire joomla site suffers.

Anyone have the knowledge\expertise to help troubleshoot this?

How can I assist my web developer in finding root causes such as underpowered server, bad server configuration (on Verio VPS), table index problems.  This will lead to consulting work as the Joomla template is clunky and needs to be replaced + migrate the site off of Verio.

Please let me know what info you need to do some basic troubleshooting.

Thanks

I have to tell you i abandonded dt register because the code was unbelievably sloppy and in many cases really just wrong. Really, really sloppy. It will lose you money when your customers complain.

Are you saying phpmyadmin is slow?

Also what is the operating system on the VPS?

What does it mean to be "Always On"?

Is your cloud always on? With an Always On cloud you won't have to worry about downtime for maintenance or software application code updates, ensuring that your bottom line isn't affected.

when something takes 6 minutes there's usually a connection issue. For instance, maybe there's a ping-response conversation that never ends. It's hard to know without doing the troubleshooting.

6 minutes is an awfully long time for pages to load.  Normally hosted websites take a little bit longer than if you were to host it yourself.  I'm currently in the process of setting up my own hosting services for my shop.  GoDaddy is a great hosting provider, but the initial load time of the sites can be a bit slow.  This is mainly due to their servers being so far away.  A more localized server will help speed things up.

Also, DTRegsiter...I'm in agreement with joomla_php.  Sloppy...

Any template upgrades you need, etc...please feel free to contact me as I would be more than happy to assist.

I can talk... I'm honestly not taking on too much right now but I do love a good problem. What's the EE approved way of exchanging info? I don't want to break any rules.
