Does SharePoint 2010 support video streaming?

I am extremely confused if SharePoint 2010 supports video streaming. So far having used asset library and Media web part, I though that the streaming is supported out of the box in SharePoint 2010 but have just found something on Microsoft website that says otherwise:

"SharePoint Server 2010 does not support live streaming of audio or video content"

Could anyone please tell me what does this mean. I can play the videos from the asset libray any by using the web part and it does play without downloading the videos. What is this all about?

The media web part is used to play files that are typically stored in a SharePoint media library.

Streaming video is a different technology:

SharePoint 2010 provides the tools for storage, and playback of video with the Media web part out of the box. This effectively downloads the video contents to the user's Temp folder. This is not streaming, though.
