I believe this is a known issue.  Whether your Outlook is in online or cached mode (where it doesn't seem to happen) makes a difference.  There are some workarounds.  Open the draft and save the contents to a new email message, turn on cached mode, save the HTML file as an RTF and then back to an HTML, use OWA instead of Outlook...Microsoft said they were working on this, but that it was a complex issue with the database engine and the fix wouldn't be coming out soon.

this is actually for users on a network - they just receive problems in relation with Operation failed when they opening something, or attaching a file or busy typing an email

Is Outlook Web App working for the users?

Try setting up a new outlook profile for a user and see if that helps.

the problem is that its not just one user but multiple users. Therefore if creating a new profile for one user then that means all of them will have to undergo the same procedure.

If it is any useful, they connect via Citrix and are limited to specific applications.

they connect to microsoft outlook 2007 but the server is 2008

What error number are you getting in the event logs?

We have one user having something similar, error  0x80004005.

A lot of posts online seem to indicate it is due to Norton or Symantec antivirus.. Or temp files being locked.

If there is any update on this, I would be very appreciative.
