Hi There

I have been working on a user's pc where outlook 2007 hangs on the splash screen for about 5 minutes before opening. The problem started about 2 days ago. If i open outlook in "safe mode" then it works fine. I have disabled all addins but the issue persists. Windows Search is not installed on this pc.

Any Ideas?

As a rudimentary troubleshooting measure, try closing all Office apps and then run a Repair of the Office 2007 installation.

    Accepted Solution

try performing a check disk on the system.  Had the same happen to a user this week and the check disk appears to have fixed it.  though the check disk took a couple hours to complete, it fixed some file linkages.
