Then why the constant coming up and going down of the interfaces? It gets so much, the whole network shuts down, what could be causing it?

Is this the only switch or you have multiple?
If you have multiple and they are connected in loop it could be that you have broadcast storm bacouse STP is not configured correctly. You can fast check that if you eliminate a loop between switches.
If it is the only one, then maybe it is something wrong with it. You can try to disconnect from electricity or try to upgrade the firmware.

Already did that and it was on its own and not connected to another switch. I initially plugged in a spg 300 series with this same result, i thought it was not compatible with the UC560 systems, so i got another switch, this time an ESW 520 series switch, it whole network came down and i thought it was the UC560, we just eliminated that box this morning and noticed this from the switch. I do not think both switches have the same bug, so i am suspecting there is something else wrong. Only right now, i am all out of ideas, i really have no idea what to think or check for anymore. Any new thoughts will be appreciated.

Its a combination of systems, i tried the second one, but i am afraid i did not think of sniffing the network traffic. When i tried them, after removing certain network cables it became stable and when they are all plugged back in, it is fine until the system is restarted or shut down for the day. But it always comes back.
Sorry, I don't understand you completely. Are you saying that the problem is not repeatable at the moment you wish to occur, but the problems comes back at random times normally after short or long shutdown and restart of equipment connected to switch.

Yes that is exactly what i am trying to say, it comes back at random times. we went round and tested the cables for continuity and found some port had issues and fixed them, so i am hoping that takes care of that issue.
