Search on Archive outlook

Hi guys

I am curerently suing windows 7 and outlook 2010.
I archive emails and i remember when using outlook 2007 i had a folder in outlook for the archive and i was able to search old emails.
Now in outlook 2010 i do not have that folder and i need to search for an old email, how can i do that?
what are the steps?
i need to see that folder in outlook and be able to access it as need it.

THe easiest way to enable search accross your whole system is to add the folders the the windows search. email is one of the items windows search does particularly well.

you could enable the archive mailbox in exchange- that is searchable

my final comment is that outllok search requires the data foldr to actually be open. If you go to the folder in outlook and do the search on the open folder, it should work. Windows search on the other hand, can parse mail in the pst folder, even if it is not open i n outllook. check it out
