phpMyAdmin Error... Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in ....

I am receiving the following error when I open phpMyAdmin on localhost (my local PC for testing).  I have opened up the file being referenced, but I cannot figure out what I need to change in order to "bump up" the time out allowed.  Can someone help?  Line 172 means nothing to me.  Thanks!

1. Go to C:\xampp\php and open php.ini
2. Search for "max_execution_time" (without quotes)
3. Set it to whatever value you want (cause you are working locally ;))

Hhhhhmmmmm.  I'm still getting the same error message about 30 seconds...  Yes, I did save the file before I closed it :)
